Artist Statement

I have been creating Lampwork beads on and off since 1994. Primarily self-taught, I learned the basics of
bead forming and technique through books and watching over the shoulders of friends.
During the past year my work has changed dramatically.
A focus on enamels and reactive metals has transformed the way I approach this medium.
I'm interested in the textures I have been able to create by layering color
and the semi-transparency of etched glass. There is an inner glow and tactile quality
to the etching that I love. The use of enamels brings in textures
and color possibilities I have been unable to achieve through the use of glass color rods alone.
I live in New England with my husband John, and son Max.
Thanks for visiting.
Peace.
